I’ve been waiting by a temple close to your old home Smog and chanting of ancient prayers fill the air as you arrive alone You said you smelled my / cologne from around the corner, knew it was me You’ve traveled far, what have you seen? I’ve got to meet you there, just say when I’ve got to meet you by the temple someday again Do you remember our sleeper car in the desert moving slowly? We’ve got grown up jobs now so we can get better seats, better drinks So let’s go for a week I’ve got to meet you there, just say when I’ve got to meet you by the temple someday again Let’s steal away we’re just getting older Vacation days don’t roll over To the next job or the next life Before we know it, our youth is gone like a thief in the night Like a thief in the night I’ve got to meet you there, just say when I’ve got to meet you by the temple someday again Two weeks later And you’ve been waiting by a temple close to your old home I arrive in a taxi and you hurry on in cause we’ve got places to go We’ve got places to go

Falls no shadow where shines no sun Are you healed? Or have you just begun? Heaven’s stairway spirals up Brings us to our darkness as seen on TV from above I can’t stay forever but I fixate like I can Here’s to starting over in this moment, the only, only one we’ve really got Here’s hoping the right gods fall in love with us Forever means nothing if you truly learn to trust (Arms down in the reeds slow breathing surrender) I’m only haunted by my racing mind So I surrender and slowly breathe in time Lay my arms in the reeds of a river run Falls no shadow where shines no sun I can’t play forever but I delay like I can Here’s to starting over in this moment the only only one we’ve really got The world’s more than your state of mind, I find Forever means nothing if you really leave it all behind Spirit of the stairwell tells me healing spirals up Here’s hoping the right gods fall in love with us

Starting off here in search of a step Of a giant that vanished from a place I too have left Visions of my past at Lilliput Steps in a Happy, Happy Village where my nightmares made a mess Heard my mother's voice beneath the Saturn Valley sun where someone wiser told me that the journey's far from done Messenger from the meteorite gave me purpose with his dying breath The psychic prayed from another age and saved us from our death The scientist dreaming in the snow awoke His limbs all ripped away, the future king met us on a sunny day In Winters' caves, UFOs around the bend we make way into a circle where the rainfall never ends Live magnetic hill dead history hides It’s not the tallest building where the city’s heart resides Found an entrance of the exit of the Lumine Hall where my mind is so electric, my thoughts read across the wall In Fire Spring, a melody complete and born in me Now I must face my nightmares on a dark and dreamy sea

Our walks at dusk Get me by in so many ways Knowing I can hold your hand Say anything and share the weight of words I could invent the river as Darwish did But why think my life away When I could be with you in the sun? Where we could lie as the prince and goddess run? Love you to the moon and back Mornings in your arms When it’s not too hot We hear it’s raining even when it’s not Out in Marfa we saw the stars Felt the goodness of what we are Love you to the moon and back
